They are acquired, flesh-colored, non-cancerous growths with the scientific name of <em>acrochordons<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>You may call them \u201cskin tags\u201d or \u201cbarnacles,\u201d but whatever you call them, if you have them, you are not alone. Half of the population of the U.S. will have a skin tag at some point in their life. Obesity and aging are commonly associated with skin tag development. They can vary in number from one to hundreds and men and women, alike, are equally prone to developing skin tags. Early on, skin tags may be as small as a pin-head but some may become as large as a big grape.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skin tags are commonly found:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At the base of the neck<\/li>\n<li>Under the breast<\/li>\n<li>In the groin and buttocks folds<\/li>\n<li>Under the arms<\/li>\n<li>On the eyelids<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Some other skin tag factoids:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is no strong evidence to suggest that common skin tags are contagious.
